The extension and refurbishment of this mid terrace property required our involvement from inception through to completion. The brief was to create additional living space and new internal layout by building between the properties on either side.
Following the design phase, we obtained planning permission. It was necessary to follow the requirements of the ‘Party Wall’ Act. Each of the neighbouring owners officially agreed to the work and accepted the photographic reports that were drawn up to identify the condition of their property prior to commencing any work. The extension was constructed using externally insulated timber frame that was finished with specilaist thin coat render achieving which helped to reduce the build time.
The project was completed on budget and in time for the arrival of the owner’s new baby.
The completed extension enhanced the overall rear elevation whilst creating a light interior, the additional space required and many distinguishing features.
